LSU returns to field vs. Southern Miss still largely a mystery | Podcast

The controversial postponement of LSU’s matchup with Florida — initially scheduled for Oct. 8 — has left the team largely a mystery nearly midway through the season.

The Tigers’ early-season ups and downs ultimately sealed the fate of coach Les Miles and his tenure and put all eyes on interim coach Ed Orgeron.

Under “Eaux,” the team looked as good against Missouri as it had in maybe more than a year. But about 20 days into his tenure, that’s still the only performance on which to at all judge the post-shakeup squad — and (spoiler alert) Missouri isn’t exactly Ole Miss, Alabama, Arkansas, Texas A&M or, for that matter, Florida.

Fans and media will get another look at Orgeron and company Saturday evening against Southern Miss, providing a few more answers.

Jerit Roser and Mark Clements discuss in the podcast a couple more aspects to watch — including one personnel group they’d really like to see on offense when possible — as well as some thoughts and feelings on Mike VI’s passing.
